Starlink is a game where one or more players are given tactical control of ships produced by their galactic empire. With its ability to offer both single player and multi-player experience, Starlink's true strength lies in its ability to let several players share control of the same empire -- which is even more entertaining when those players are sharing the same touch-screen device. In its essence, Starlink a social strategy game, without all the annoying waiting and micro-transactions.
Starlink was originally created as a test for the multi-player networking library developed by Tasharen. What started as a quick and-dirty prototype turned into a pretty entertaining game that was playable not only single-player, but also with several players gathered around the same touch-screen device. With the ability for multiple people to share control of the same faction, gaming with friends on the same device can quickly evolve into finger-pointing and a flat-out blame-fest of each other's skills as gamers when something inevitably goes wrong.
